Hungry kya ?

The  mid day meal programme, a flagship programme of Union government, originally a brainchild of the British , proved to be quite a disaster in Bihar in the light of the recent unfolding of the handicaps in its execution. A programme that caters  to almost 70,000 schools in Bihar now wafts a foul smell.

With 23 kids dead the nation demands an answer. Who is responsible for this tragedy

Sure it was not intentional and might have been a result of compounding of loopholes in the scheme. But either way it points to the government for letting  down its vigil. Though the government points at the school but why single out the school ?

In spite of having an exclusive officer as a mid day meal in charge the mere revelation of the current hygiene practice and zilch compliance of the guidelines itself is appalling. Therefore the occurrence of such a tragic incident comes as no surprise.
In order to ameliorate the situation the government now decides to place the onus on the teachers temporarily.I fail to see how altering the roles of others will amend the wrong. While not wanting to paint the picture black all i genuinely hope is for the investigation to be not an eyewash.

We are hungry

According to the reports Bihar government was notified about the irregularities in the meals and amendments were suggested too, but it all fell on deaf ears. Funding of about 400 crore done by the central government to ensure proper execution of the scheme was not used to even buy peanuts until 2012 ,stating no necessity.Though the reports suggest otherwise. What happened  displays the incautious audit management, poor execution skills and sheer apathy of the officers and the government.

yeahhh..its because we never disappoint  people

Facts show that the only time most politicians have attended to the common man is after a tragedy and before the elections. Rest all time they are in a lim(b)o . Is only visiting us and sharing a meal with us a solution to our problem ? If so why not include schools in the itinerary? Does the fact whether a school is toeing the line never concern them ? Is the making of schemes and announcing of child welfare programmes the only way children will be looked after ?  Oh blimeyy!!!  is it because kids cant vote ?
