Diversity in unity

India needs a government that can change its current state. After July 30 2013, congress proved its the one to change the state(s).

 faith in Government restored

So currently, India has  29 states and 7 union territories. The 29th state which was made recently is the state of Telangana.
Ever since post independence period the region of Telangana has been a bone of contention. It was ruled by the nizam of hyderabad until it was finally merged with Andhra Pradesh. Up until now Andhra Pradesh was theoretically divided into 3 regions
1. Telangana
2. Coastal Andhra
3. Rayalseema.

On the dawn of 30th july 2013 it was actually divided. The first divison, telangana, now becomes an independent state. Thus making the division literally existent and figuratively evident.

Run!!!! Divide and rule is back !!!!!

Telangana has about 20% of the coal deposits of India in addition to a cultivable land for agriculture. Also, it has plenty of water resources, bauxite and mica deposits along with limestone deposits. In spite of the tremendous amount of resources which the region possesses it still lacks development. Due to this it has always been looked upon as a backward region in Andhra Pradesh. On the other hand, rayalaseema and coastal andhra, the other parts constituting andhra pradesh, are progressive and developed. According to newspapers and reports telangana is instrumental in their development in some way or the other . Interestingly as its evident from above, telagana itself has enough resources to flourish coastal andhra and rayalseema, in short andhra pradesh , but not itself. This made the lacunae in the system as obvious as the nose on your face. People eventually took notice of it and for obvious reasons collectively with the politicians demanded for a separate state.

Its all a conspiracy...and i know it

When telangana was merged with andhra pradesh a lot of debate and discussions took place. The merging was against the will of the people and was technically an experiment. So to sort things out an agreement that offered a provision of formation of an independent state of telangana, if the need arises in future, was made. To rephrase, a matrimonial alliance with a great potential for divorce was made.

oh my blimeyy..... god save the world
Lets rake up a few episodes associated with the separation. The tension between telanganites and andhraites had always existed. And like a malignant cancer it only got worse with time. So back in those days, noticing the tension, after coming to power BJP promised for a new state of telangana. By state i mean the 29th one. But it failed to deliver what it had promised. Then came Congress and promised the same once again. But it too failed to deliver what it had promised until 30th july 2013. What was promised was delivered.

this causes for a celebration

Sad part is that the conflicts weren’t resolved neither was the animosity amongst the people removed. It was just fueled for long enough until  a new and independent state of telangana was announced. The zealous willingness of the politicians to form a state and the formation of it seemed to have selfish undertones. What seems like a solution looks more like a menace to the society. But only time can tell how it will unfold.

Entertaining division of a current state to form another state on the grounds of incompatibility with the current state explains why British ruled India for 150 years. The formation of telangana upholds the fact that we are regionalites first nationalites later. Brotherhood and unity are now just a topic of discussion. Now the whole concept of  national integration is reduced to just a 5 marks question in exams. It seems what was taught in school has stayed in school.

For any more questions on why some other way was not resorted to to solve the problem of telangana

TALK TO THE HAND
( pun intended )
